About Allan
With more than six decades in the hockey business, Allan Power’s track record includes working as a pro scout with the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs and a successful tenure as General Manager of the QMJHL Moncton Wildcats. All told, he has scouted more than 200,000 hockey players and applied those insights to develop an original business program to evaluate executive skill levels and brand impact. His methodology, inspired by NHL Central Scouting, is what’s known as the 7-ON-7 EVALUATION SYSTEM. Often compared to the blockbuster movie and best-selling book “Moneyball”, Allan provides independent data through a 49-point scoring system that offers eye-popping clarity, brutal facts and a critical path to success for leaders determined to display their uniqueness in the market.
After a collegiate career as a grinding forward with the University of Moncton Blue Eagles, he launched Power Play Sports. His popular hockey schools were instrumental in the development of tens of thousands of young players all over the Atlantic region, including future NHL’ers such as Scott Pellerin, Glen Murray, Brad Marchand and many more. As a media personality, he co-founded New Brunswick’s original sports television show and is often invited to appear on radio & TV programs to offer expert analysis on the game and success principles that apply both on and off the ice. Now working with corporate leadership teams to develop championship-level mindsets, he is a voracious reader and a lifelong student of UCLA’s legendary basketball coach John Wooden.
